After a long tug of war Amazon have given in to MacMillan on e-book and physical book sales
The biggest issue for me is that in the digital world what possible justification is there for wanting to charge more than US$9.99 for an e-book?
No distribution costs, no printing costs and because of that far more profitable
It seems another case of corporate greed, not that Amazon are saints but at least they try to give consumers good deals.
Amazon's Kindle plus several other platforms provide a qualified e-book userbase. Sometimes I wonder whether anyone from MacMillan et al have even walked into a book store
Paul Carr wrote a great piece on this. I'll go find it
I thought it was a good explanation. Finally got what the whole hubbub was about
Short version - the profit *is* in the printing![]()
Meh, something has gotta give eventually
What do you mean?
