oh I'm just working on the assumption that any person in their right mind would try to punch Margaret Thatcher
haha
You know what, if you were my age rather than yours you might think not WHATEVER your political dissuasion. Tories stayed too long but '79 when Thatcher came in, Britain wasn't far off the DPR Congo in where it was heading.
i am a fan of what she did for the country.. and impressed with her 'balls'
OK, maybe bad analogy given what you have seen in Congo Jude, but was in a terrible mess.
I spent part of my school time in the dark. Literally. We had no power. Only candles.
tax @ 98% in pound.
Was that solely down to Labour mismanagement or the fact that a lot of different factors were at pay
No, Heath was a factor too. Big factor.
also, when I went through primary school we had power cuts as well, it was a travesty
I think the Lib Dems are shooting themselves in the foot right now
My dad (who admittedly was born German) used to say rather grandly that he reckoned Heath did more damage to Britain than the Luftwaffe!
ahahaha
Dimbles is back! Maybe they put him in an induced sleep or something like that
I want to be like Dimbles in my '70s.
OK, it's now 8 pm in Sudney and as Jude can attest I have been on the go for 14.5 hours. (Bondi lunchtime swim aside) So am going to wonder around the corner to my pal Karim who went to Wellington School, has some people over for drinks and I imagine some of whom may have some interest in what happens in Britain. Said I would only come if he gave me access to his or his girlfriend's laptop. Back in 45 mins .. with a glass of wine / vodka / whatever ..
no worries![]()
see ya
take care!
I agree with Kinnock, Nick Clegg kind of boxed himself into a corner
BRILLO is BACK!
Brillo is indeed back as are you!
Did you go for the wine or the vodka?
also, whilst you've been gone rumblings of Tory discontent
have begun to rear their head
Wine. Haven't been offered vodka. Back watching and annoying some Aussies with little real interest. What talk of Tory disquiet?
apparently some members weren't happy with how the campaign was fought
also that for some electoral reform is absolutely not to be offered
.... which puts LAB / LD's back in play.
indeed
Alex back in the House. My house,
like Daft Punk :p
I'm wilting, I need more sleep!
Can understand ....
From The Times this morning ...
"The failure of the Liberal Democrats to turn unprecedented interest and – fleetingly – support into seats can be traced back to errors by Nick Clegg midway through the election."
hmmm
Maybe his people will turn ...
well I did wonder
I think his soundbites are coming back to bite him in the arse
Speaking of which ...
Bummer, lost my screen capture. This may take a minute.
heh

Nigel Farage, the former leader of the UK Independence Party, was trapped in the wreckage of a light aircraft
If offered a ride on a light plane, first check to see what time the next train might depart ...
Sorry Jude. Had to post this ...
yikes :/
Brown popping out the door to talk to the press within the half hour.
that should be interesting
