Google Documents is fine for this. Main advantage of using it seems to be for companies, newspapers...
Kind of strange to stop the development just because not enough people are using it.
See how Orkut is going (except for Brazil and India)..
Still think they will use Google Wave's technology if they want to go Social.
Technology rocked but product s*****
Like always with Google? Technology is a hit, but UX is terrible...
Hi Gonzalo! What are your thoughts about this news?
Hi Loic! too bad that WAVE development stops but at least Google admits that this product wasn't working...
Yes. Think they launched it too quickly with so many expectations...
Were you still using it?
I don't think that it was too messy or ahead of its time... maybe it was too difficult to get people to jump on the WAVE bandwagon.
No, I stopped using it because nobody of my friends or coworkers was using it...

Too difficult I agree.
(je commence à oublier mon anglais)
I stopped using it mainly because it was crashing my laptop, required too many ressources. And also because almost none of my friends were using it.
Haha, si quieres podemos hablar en espanyol![]()
Yep, at the beginning it was "difficult" to get an invite...
Agree, can remember people selling the invites on eBay![]()
I got mine in a funny way, went to Google's Sydney headquarters for the launch and got mine by saying a joke![]()
And then once you got one, there was no use for it... nobody of your "social circle" was interested or had an account. Maybe it was too "geeky"...
Loic said : "I got mine in a funny way, went to Google's Sydney headquarters for the launch and got mine by sayin..."
Cool!
Yeah probably too geeky. Also, I think you needed a Gmail account ?
People want to share pictures the "easy way", chat, do "social things" without too many hassle...

Agree, you don't want to spend time online wondering how to use a product...
Loic said : "Yeah probably too geeky. Also, I think you needed a Gmail account ?"
Wasn't it a Google account?
I NEVER really understood Wave. Liked the concept but found it too hard to get my small head across how best to use it.
Oh yeah you might be right for the Google account, still too hard for people to connect with their friends.
Hi Sam, agree with you, as e said earlier, too difficult to understand.
Anyway, Google is not that good with new or "innovative" services, like Picasa, Google Video, Orkut... even Buzz could be on this list.
You've hit the nail on the head Gonzalo.
Yeah, they just think on the technology but forget about user experience.
Good point about Wave is that its technology is already used in other Google services:
"Holzle said that some of the technology developed for Wave would make its way into other Google products and services. Real-time typing has already become part of Google Docs, the company’s existing collaboration tool, while the ability to drag-and-drop media files into a message was recently added to Gmail." (http://wp.me/p4P8c-ztU)
Collaborative experience was good especially for the real-time part.
Maybe people just consider Google a "Search Engine" and that's it. Most of my friends continue to use hotmail and msn even if Gmail and Gtalk are better... lots of people continue to use ie6 even if out there are more and better options...
Think people don't really know there are other options available..
They use one browser and keep using it, same thing is happening to email services, social network...
People doesn't like "change"... they prefer to stick with what they know.

People are afraid of change![]()
So we all agree, it was too difficult to use?

That's it![]()
Yep... kind of.![]()
Will miss Dr. Wave![]()
He'll be missed!
Gotta leave, here it's almost 10 PM. Need to get some food. Bye
Ok, nice talking to you! Have a good night![]()
Merci et bonne journée là-bas...
Gracias!
See you.
