iPhone 3.0 actually gives you a phone!!!

So firmware 3.0 is here and we need have an iPhone where the phone side is actually decent in contrast to the previously "half-baked" phone features.

If I was an exec at RIM, Nokia, Motorola etc I'd be sweating bullets in 2007 trying to explain how iPhone released a phone that doesn't work and killed our market share

I was at this seminar few months ago - Nokia still has something like 45% of global sales. Remember the iPhone being a very very small sliver on that pie chart

the point was the iPhone gets queues round corners whereas recent phone launches although respectively have no attracted this type of euphoria

Sure, but that's more the power of the brand than anything else

It's is pretty much only Mac fans who would upgrade their phones every year.
