Simon Cowell £100M/yr deal for American Idol

Simon Cowell is in talks to sign a 100million pounds-a-year ‘American Idol’ contract, which could make him the highest paid star in TV history.

By sealing the US deal with Fox, Cowell will quadruple his current 25 million pounds a year, which means that he would rake in a whopping 2.2 million pounds an hour on screen.

No wonder he's smiling.

I don't watch the show. From the snippets I have seen however, looks like he plays his role well.

Now if only they could find an Idol worth listening to.

Yes he's good. Just wish I thought of doing that first. It's not that hard. I would have been better.

He also fronts other shows such as The X Factor and Britain's Got Talent.

No offence taken man. I was having a laugh as I was writing. I'm from Jamaica originally - hence the flag and on the island where I come from we'll all pretty cool.

PS Still think I would be better than Simon. He's very entertaining granted but my 'Granny', she thinks I'm the funniest guy alive and better than sliced bread for that matter. 'Granny' is what I call my wife.

you are quite a funny guy after all... also jamaican bobby sounds a lot more interesting and exotic than just plain old bobby. i'm from the uk and the name bobby there a bit more old fashioned than simon.
