Three easy steps to allow you to watch Hulu from outside the USA
All in less than 5 minutes
Step 1: Go to AnchorFree and download Hotspot shield, then install it
Step 2: After installation, look for Hotspot shield in the bottom right hand corner of your PC aka the taskbar. Right click on Hotspot and select Connect/ON. This will activate the software
Step 3: Upon a successful connection, go to Hulu and enjoy all of their fantastic library of programmes and movies, easy!!
FYI, Hotspot Shield will make your IP appear to be a US one hence you can now watch Hulu. Nothing I can do about the ads though ![]()
I just watched a new series called Defying Gravity. Very promising and on Hulu too!

I have a friend (Erik) who wants to watch the BBC Newsnight programme. Erik has homes in the US and Oz (but not England). The BBC iPlayer blocks overseas IP addresses.
Impressive team behind HotSpot.
Well I have my answer from iPlayer!
"Currently BBC iPlayer TV programmes are available to play in the UK only."
You can view iplayer with this guide http://www.showmethetelly.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2
Will check it out unicronic and get my pal Erik over to this conversation when he rises from his slumber in the US of A. Meanwhile I have checked out Hulu, the shield works. They are serving interstitial and banner ads for, in my case watching The Office, Hillshire Farm and McCafe so I'm assuming this has the support of the US TV Networks?
For your other link, note the need for a UK Proxy server!
I quote from the page:
"I worked out this solution because I never had a reliable UK proxy to work with, and it seems pointless proxying the entire site, when all that needs to be proxied are the requests for
I have yet to look into the requirements for the downloads, but since I am happy with the speed of my ISP I don't need to download."
Interesting.
Back to Hulu. Regular American commercial breaks. Hmmn.
I'll try the UK proxy. Would be nice to have a way to watch iview (or whatever they call it in UK). Anybody have an Oz proxy server that has enough bandwidth for video? ABC has their version of iview that works well (at least in Oz).
The instructions for the UK proxy are simple, but require a good UK proxy. Last time I tried this I was not able to find a reliable UK proxy so I gave it away. Anbody have a good UK proxy that is fast & reliable?
See my last 'SNIP'. I thought the benefit of the path pointed out by unicronic and quoted here is that you don't need a really good proxy server because all you need is one that is going to deliver to you the original request for i] the episode & ii] the request for the stream?
