Clinton & Kim Jong IL. The Inside Story.

I love South Korea because they print Starcraft characters on Cheetos bags

LOL

Starcraft characters? On Cheetos. Hmmm that's some heavy marketing

I didn't even know Starcraft was popular in S.Korea.

The #1 search result on Google for "starcraft cheetos" is "Koreans Love Starcraft".

Dan, when you say the Prof was from N. Korea. I don't imagine he was on sabbatical from the University of Pyongyang but had rather slipped out when people weren't looking?

I'm not sure how he ended up in the US, but he was very old and has been here a very long time

In the 90s he was a commentator for CNN whenever there was a N. Korea story

Wow, so he been on the outside for quite some time. Meeting anyone from N.Korea nowadays seems to be impossible

Hmmn. Hope he was easier to follow on CNN than in your lectures. Hopefully too he got out before these guys got busy.

Nice picture. Cheetos just went up a notch in my book

Imagine having Kim Jong on your Cheetos bag.

No thanks. It would put my off my Cheetos. Kim Jong is quite ill at the moment right? The photo above compared with his appearance with Bill is a stark contrast

Yes, they say pancreatic cancer which is not a good one to get.

Wonder what'll happen once the warlord passes on? Not much but one can hope that N.Korea would learn how to relax their iron curtain attitude somewhat

< Googling his professor

Chosun Ilbo

(Seoul).

ROY KIM has taught Political Science at Drexel University since 1969.

I need to hire an employee.

I'd start a chat room about it but it's really hard talking here without knowing if any one is listening

Ahh Dan. You never mentioned it was 'Roy'.

@ unicronic. Not if the Great Leader has anything to do with it. He's annointing his 25 year old son who was educated in Switzerland where his fellow students thoughts he was the son of an embassy driver. Whilst Junior settles in, Kim Jong Il's brother-in-law will act as regent.

This is my favourite picture of the main man.

@!

I wonder what happened to the person who took that photo?

He ate him.

I wonder who was most shocked the photographer or Kim Jong. I hope the white is underwear and not a napkin. uuuggh Yell

It looks real, but it has to be a photoshop... or an impersonator

I agree Dan, so real it has to be dodgy. I can't imagine Kim Jong living in such apparant poverty. That's not the warlord way

I can't believe HootSuite and Seesmic Web are still down. How am I supposed to Twitter??

Edited 3 Years ago

LONG LIVE TANGLERLIVE.

Was wondering the same things - nappy and whether it was photoshop. Unicronic I know someone who flies to the US on his Gulfstream in his underpants. Just because he's naked doesn't mean he's broke. Look at the tummy. Isn't there a fable about an Emperor with no clothes ...

I need strangers to give me advice

Yes the fable of the Emperor with no clothes is that the Emperor was a complete dolt

Edited 3 Years ago

You have got to pray this is not being read by the N. Koreans unicronic. You're not showing respect.

What are they gonna do if they are reading it?

All their attempts at launching missiles have resulted in dropping duds into the water next to Japan

What they did to those Japanese that disappeared and the two American girls. Have you come stay with them for a very long time.

If I wanted my privacy to be respected I would not use the internet.

If they do take you, see if you can keep your PC. Would be fascinating to have a voice inside one of their labour camps.

Indeed. Given my own culinary skills a N.Korean labor camp might be an upgrade

On that note, must do some work. Wink

The word is that Bill was able to achieve the release of the two American women by using flattery...Apparently Bill told Kim that he looked better in a pant suit than Hillary did.... and so began a wonderful friendship..Smile

I knew we would get there .... There's THE INSIDE STORY.

Has there been any press on what he acually had to give away to secure the release?

Alot of speculation .....

Edited 3 Years ago

This from a S. Korean broadsheet (if such a thing exists).

"Former President Clinton may be in a position to present the Obama administration’s arguments, while avoiding the formalities of bilateral dialogue between the North Korean and U.S. governments. At the same time, a visit by Clinton, whom former South Korean Unification Minister Lim Dong-won describes as the “big shot among big shots within the U.S.,” could save North Korea’s face."

Are there any guidlines as to what former presidents can and can't do / endorse? Good work freeing the journos but I have the nagging suspicion that much is about Brand Clinton...

Can't 'do'? You mean like Monica Lewinsky?

Hahahaha, that blue dress...Surprised

Have a great looking friend who was once up some stairs on a landing in Sydney studying art when Clinton went walkabout. She said she had NEVER been looked at by anyone, the way he looked at her. And an awful lot of people had looked at her over the years. She felt naked. Unbelievable sex appeal. He came back 30 minutes later and sent over an assistant who advised that the President wanted to meet her. You know what he said? "I'd like you to look me up should you get to Washington". (This was pre-Monica).
