yeah... conversations remain on tangler, but as a wave, people can join in, like it was an email in their wave inbox.
Ok, better understand your point of view. Integrating the conversations in some websites would be great. The thing is that Tangler has to "integrate" the Google Wave community to get a lot of audience using it. In your opinion, it would worth it developing it (time spent on it/audience reached) ?
In my opinion yes... first of all, email was the biggest form of communication on the planet, however instant messaging in all its various forms took that title from email, and what google wave is doing, is combining the best of both... Everything in wave is not knew, in fact everything in wave has been around for a few years... Wave is just a package putting it all together, but with one extra feature that most others don't think about
there are servers dedicated to wave, communicating with each other, but also because of the extensible API on open-source nature, these servers are also open and ready to communicate with custom servers operating on the wave protocol.
because of this protocol and open-source API google wave is really only the basics.. I expect to see other developers building onto it, in new ways, extending waves capabilities.
wave will saturate the market place, the same way gmail did, and the user base will continually build... tapping into that growing user base for tangler is a good idea, because they already have their own users, but intergrating with wave will open tangler and tanglerlive up to a whole new world of communication.
yeah I also think that Wave is the "future" of communication (even if we don't know yet all the functionalities it can create). My only concern is : will people use it ? I see much more interest in Wave for companies or online journals for example than for "basic" customers. Might be a bit hard for a huge majority of users to understand how to use it...
IMO
do you have a gmail account?
yes
do you know how to send mail using that gmail account?
googles wave interface is similar to gmail, and the basic function remains the same... for the standard user, at first, it may be as simple as sending an email
but eventually the average user will see the benifit of being able to start branches of conversation from those emails within the same email (wave)
not only branches, but different users can have different levels of access to a wav, so to me I might look at an wave you have sent me, but to Dek, you might have a side conversation in the same wave going on, that I dont see.
short answer... yes I think it is worth tangler integating with.
I hope Alex and the other dev guys see the value the same as I do...
haha ! Yeah I was thinking (and probably still am) the same than you, but first thing we though with my colleague when we open Wave was "What should we do ???"
it looks so different from an email service, that you don't think you can actually speak to some people
Let's see how it goes in the future but I agree with you that opportunities are huge with it
yeah
Let me know when you receive the invite what you think about gWave
will do.... hasn't come through yet
Am still away from google wave .. somebody invite me ?
google launching application like they found oxygen in moon grrrrr . gmail was also like that .. invite me if somebody have wave send out an invitation rajeevpnairr@gmail.com .thanks in advance.

Loic Thank you .. but i didn't got your invitation
. could you double check. Pseudyx yes that's a manual process cos sending out to few people who is regularly using their application or their fans. Beta testers?(wave not in beta (thinking)) .Rob- LOL apt Google's marketing technique also as per this comment "We are working hard to scale and keep stable and fast"
Yeah I sent some invitations on Friday too but my friends still haven't received it yet..
(WONDERING) If you have an invitation panel and you invited any person that person will get invitation very quickly
@Loic Just received my invite... just figuring out what I can do... you are right about, there doesn't seem like much to do... a lot is still under dev
Mine is missing in Google server !!!!!
One of my friend got google wave but he don't have an option to invite others , anyway waiting for my card
You should receive it soon ! Yeah I think they don't send invites to people who have been invited by other ones.
I still have 3 other invites if someone is interested. Rai ? Alex ?
Yeah i got Loic ... Thank You
.
no worries, enjoy the Wave experience![]()
Loic, I want one! Please?
google wave is going to be a federated protocol once it comes out for real so theres no reason tangler couldn't use wave as one of its interface protocols on top of whatever they are using now.
for example i would be tylergillies@tangler.com and i could send messages to any other wave id. i could also use that id to post to tangler specific stuff
I just got a bunch of invites! Anyone here still looking for one?
Saw in the Wave Twitter stream at the weekend, something saying he had 20 invites to give away. Even I now have ONE spare invitation. Google must be scraping the barrel.
I got one.
What does «scraping the barrel» mean? (I'm not English)
Thanks! I have 14 invites to give out...
And people say you should just use them, in order to get new ones faster.
I still have 8 invites if anyone wants??
